This was a hard one to stop.

Realistically, South should have realized this this one was unstoppable based on that hand and since his team was up, should have blocked it.

Dealer is 2X to have a doubleton than a Singleton for his last card! I would save the JD.

But the 9S was the card to lead not the 9D! I am sure you can figure that one out!

Also, S1 breaks up his Spade doubleton on the 2nd trick??? And he/she plays a useless 9H, when he is suppose to slough the suit he is not saving ASAP.

Score 8 to 5, I would have donated. At that score, so what if you give them one point, now 8 to 7 and your deal. Should score 1 and now 9 to 7 and you can donate again as you have the next deal. It is all about score and situations. Why donate on this hand: YOU HAVE NOTHING TO RUN TO if dealer turns it down. Now they get two bites of the apple. So many errant plays.

Euchre may be a simple game, but has a lot of situational complexities.

Seat 1 made two mistakes that were costly. first they didn't donate. 2nd they didn't keep double diamond when maker showed one already.

2 chances to stop a loner and failed on both.
