So, the accepted convention is to donate in 1st seat ahead 9-6 or 9-7.
However, what if you have a guaranteed point in another suit or to extend that an almost guaranteed point. I find it extremely difficult to donate in these cases. There's always a chance you'll get junk in the 9-8 or 9-9 hand and lose and a loner is far from certain. I feel like you're best off passing (this is just a feeling and I have no statistical analysis to back it up)
What is your opinion on this situation?

Well it would entirely depend on if your opponents are either apt to go alone with weaker hands or only with super made hands that's a no brainer. In those spots where both my opponents do not go alone at all or very rarely then I will play for that possible call hand. That's the only time.
