E/W had been down the entire game, tying it on S1 loner (when he was dealer) at 7-7. It gets to 9-9 but N/S is deal.
I know if it gets to S3 they are calling next, and dealer is calling reverse. But would you pass on this hand at 9-9 knowing you had nothing to lose by being down the whole game?(1-7 at one juncture)

Easy call seat 2 r2. Its 9 to 9 after your p turns down red.

Wat. Passing in that spot is effectively forfeiting the game away. What happened to get to that point is irrelevant. Always play to win at every moment of the game. S1 didn't do that. S1 needs to call something, and if it's reasonably close in all directions, then S1 should call Next. Out of this configuration S1 should lead his one trump and hope to hit his partner. If one follows the cards they'll see that S1's team still ends up losing anyways as they will get euchred but at least S1 now dies with honor!

Definitely pass with this hand. Never call marginal when one has all suits blocked (unless opponents are at 9) and in this case passing has even stronger prospects as S1 has a decent euchre hand (all suits blocked + approx 2 tricks in every suit).

This should go without saying for most of us but I'm continuously shocked at how many people pass from S1 during R2 when opponents have 9 (and they don't have something unique like 4 jacks but even then you have to call if it is 9-9).
