The heart call is standard for seat 2 rnd 2. Seat 1 has a stopper type hand. The opening lead is ok since he effectively has two side aces. The king of clubs is now the boss card. I however if I did open lead the right, come back with Ace of diamonds.
Other wise Instead of leading trump, I would have lead Ace of diamonds.

Nice use of diamonds as a second (trump) suit

I agree with the above. The AD is the best 2nd trick lead as it's the boss offsuit most likely to walk. The KC is less likely to make it given that it was the turned down suit. Other reasons why this matters: Given that clubs was turned down S1's P, S3, is very likely to have a club in his hand (There's still 3 clubs in the wild from S1's perspective, someone's gotta have them). This means IF S3 has a void it's more likely to be in Diamonds than clubs so leading the AD increases the probability of the maker getting overtrumped. Additionally S3 has a higher chance of being able to short suit himself on the AD lead than on the KC lead. That's why the AD is the superior lead. Every edge, no matter how marginal, adds up in the long run. Exploit all possible edges.Tbolt65 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 9:22 pmThe heart call is standard for seat 2 rnd 2.
