NEVER block when your opponents have 8+ points. I'm not sure what S1 was thinking here (I'm the dealer and we euchred for the win).

That wasn't even a block, 3rd seat just ordered on garbage for... some reason.

To be fair, S3's order would have been okay if he or his partner was the dealer. It might even be a very marginal S1 call (although I'm not sure it's worth ordering first round even as S1 - this would have been a better pass + next call, especially since you know that you could hold the dealer at 1 point if he calls).

Down 8-7 and with cards to hold the dealer to a single point, live to your teams deal next. Pass from S3. If the dealer turns it down, it could be to a lone attempt by your partner.Wes (aka the legend) wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 4:58 amYep. People occasionally do this. They order "best I got" from the 3S-R1. It almost never ends well.
The order by S3 with this kind of hand is one of those hands that usually ends a game early with the dealing team thrilled.

I suppose that's true, it's just a completely different scenario. I would also never call this from S1 with such a weak holding, I'd rather live and die by the next call, every time. There's no passing here, even if your partner has a loner in green, that's just the way the cards worked out, next is still the right call.RedDuke wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 11:13 amTo be fair, S3's order would have been okay if he or his partner was the dealer.
