I don't consider passing 3 trump as the dealer unless I have a euchre hand. There's other rare spots where we have a stopper hand that can trap a Next call. Vs the right kind of S1 player, a pass may be worth it in that latter case. In this hand we don't have a euchre hand or a stopper hand (I.E. we don't have all suits blocked), so passing is not an option to me. I think passing is a bad play here. That said, this is one of those spots where it would be nice to simulate.

While I feel strongly about this order, this would certainly be a good hand to do a kitchen table sample on. I'm sure part of the reason--in fact probably the only reason he passed--is he had 2 out of 3 suits blocked, I.E. he had black blocked. That will certainly lower the cost of passing in the long run. Enough to make passing better than calling with this marginal hand? I don't think so, but I don't really know. One of these days I'll probably test this spot, but for now I'm backed up with so many samples I wanna do it's overwhelming.

Well yes, it could be done the old-fashioned way by using the kitchen table method. Of course, to be accurate each shuffle would have to the same.

Or

By using your computer to do the heavy lifting, there may be an easier way.

Here is a link to 10 hands shown in the euchre workshop.
