It's all good. My friend Kirsten and jspectre showed up so we had 4 for a long time.

Me, Edward, and my dad usually play in a home game on Fridays but we couldn't get a game going that day so that's why we decided to see if we could get an online game going.

As of now, I plan on trying to get that home game going this Friday, but after that my dad will be in Hawaii for 2-3 weeks, so those Fridays I plan on trying to get an online game going again. Hopefully you'll be able to make it then.

Sweet. We got 2 so far, you and me. We still need 2 more commits in this thread. If we don't get that then just assume the game is off.

Edward is presumed out, and my friend Kirsten said she might be available. I told her "might" is not good enough becuz nobody likes the prospect of playing with a bot. So I'm counting Kirsten as out unless she says otherwise. So we need need 2 more confirms in this thread.

Ok we didn't get a 4th so game didn't run.

Me and Kirsten (KMS) will be playing on the karman games app in the friendly game section. Table name will be Wolverine. No pass word necessary. It will be standard euchre. No "go under" option. Come join if you're interested.

Sorry Irish, business meetings always end in alcohol meetings. LOL. My attention span was limited.

I just noticed that Wes named his table “Wolverine” to allow non-registered players. Irish and I went to table, ohioeuchre.

Good idea Wes but easy to miss. I recommend using table, ohioeuchre or announce it in large print, Wolverine, to alert us to the change.

Had I'd known Richard was there that would've given us that crucial 4th with you, me, Kirsten and Richard. Then I would've shown up and called upon Kirsten to come.

Just a reminder for future impromptu games, if anyone wants to play make sure to confirm in this thread. Becuz I don't wanna play with bots, I'm not showing up unless 3 other people confirm.

I have me and Kirsten committed for Worldofcardgames game at 9pm est today. If 2 more commit in this thread, we'll start the game then. Also new rule: If you commit you gotta play at least 1 hour and it goes without saying, the more the merrier!

It's looking like I and many others may be housebound for the foreseeable future.

Perhaps there are readers of this forum that would also like to join in. The sign-in info is at the top of each page.

While I'm in a typing mode, I'd like to say that I like irishwolf's method of calling seats by their number (S1 S2 and so-on). That would seem to be more helpful than statements such as "Don played the wrong card"

Two reasons, one is no person is identified and secondly I don't like the classic Bridge method of N, S, E, & W. Reason is you have get re-oriented each time to find the Dealer. This makes it much more easier for my simple mind. lol

So why are you housebound? (just maintain your social distance and wash your hands) But humans make mistakes, humans are so spoiled and careless. So is the prediction of 90 million getting the virus even close?

I work from home and barely leave the house already and I rarely eat out at restaurants so I haven't had to make much of an adjustment, except for: Me and Edward's Thursday Vegas tournament has been cancelled indefinitely which was of course devastating news no matter how predictable it was! My Friday home game I sometimes have running is also off the table now as my dad is understandably too nervous to play in it. The other adjustment I've had to make is on Saturday's I usually watch British crime shows with my grandma, but now she doesn't want me near her so that's a no-go.

That number seems to be in the same ballpark as the numbers I'm reading, but nobody really knows and there are certainly worse case scenarios that would blow a 90 million estimate out of the water. Just gotta hope for the best and do our best to mitigate the spread.
Dr. Lawler recently presented his own “best guess” projections to American hospital and health system executives at a private webinar convened by the American Hospital Association. He estimated that some 96 million people in the United States would be infected. Five out of every hundred would need hospitalization, which would mean close to five million hospital admissions, nearly two million of those patients requiring intensive care and about half of those needing the support of ventilators.

Dr. Lawler’s calculations suggested 480,000 deaths, which he said was conservative. By contrast, about 20,000 to 50,000 people have died from flu-related illnesses this season, according to the C.D.C. Unlike with seasonal influenza, the entire population is thought to be susceptible to the new coronavirus.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, speaking at a congressional hearing on Thursday, said predictions based on models should be treated with caution. “All models are as good as the assumptions that you put into the model,” he said, responding to a question from Representative Rashida Tlaib about an estimate from the attending physician of Congress that the United States could have 70 million to 150 million coronavirus cases.

What will determine the ultimate number, he said, “will be how you respond to it with containment and mitigation.”

Just noticed this hand:

https://worldofcardgames.com/#!replayer ... %3A1%7D%5D

Don, in case you're wondering why I gave you a bad lead instead of leading trump, I didn't realize you called it. For some reason I thought the dealer had called.

Thanx for letting me know Richard. Hope you have a good night.

It looks like Kirsten is out forever due to the fact that for whatever reason her computer doesn't work well with the Worldofcardgames site. She can't stand the slowness and freezing. I haven't experienced that on my end. So it looks like it's all gonna come down to Irishwolf. Can our canine hero save us? To be continued.

If some body wants a butt whippin, I think I can make it at 9pm on 3/27!

I also think we should do this differently and play with the player for 3 games then switch.
