An unusual card distribution takes us down

Unread post by Don » Sat Sep 08, 2018 10:49 am

First, let me set this up. The score is 9 to 9. I am the dealer in south and just turned up the king of spades. At that point, I was sure we had this game won. It wasn’t surprising when first seat ordered the king, the odds of success are normally with the team that calls. First seat played both bowers and then their ace. All I could do was follow suit and admit defeat.

That is pretty unfortunate, especially with the game on the line!! Looks like it didn't even matter which red card you discarded...3rd seat likely would have saved that Ace of diamonds for the final trick!

While it sucks to lose a game at any score, situations such as this do happen. Fortunately, they are rare. All you can do is hope things turn around during the next game.
