Of course (NOT), it made no sense at all to lead the AH when the QD is unknown and you still hold the JH. Especially when S2 assisted, you know he must have another trump. S2 order a bower, now how bad is that?

Really poor play. But you could look at it and say S2 saved 2 points.

1st seat clearly needed to play boss trump (with only 1 other trump out there) on the 3rd trick; off-suit ace waiting in the wings for the 3rd trick. No possibility for 5 tricks at this point.

Poor play.

BTW, 1st seat had an almost certain point calling round 1, but the better play was to pass round 1 [and not screw up the play of the hand!]. Excellent chance at 2 (or 4!) pts. round 2 in next.

Absolutely not, S1 dropped the ball by not leading the left before the ace. It looks like S2 stopped a loner here, but I can't say that actually makes it a good call, just luck.
