Fresh suit lead, middle of the hand chance to euchre if you trump a chance to euchre if the Fresh King goes. What do you think? Let it slide or trump in?

MISCLICK, MUST TRUMP 9H DOES NOTHING THAT LATE IN THE HAND.

ALSO MAKER HAS TO TRUMP TRICK 2, NOT LET IT SLIDE.

Gotta trump in. Assuming dealer had a major brainfart.

Yep that was a critical mistake by S1. S2 has already shown he's void in trump so S1 doesn't have to fear getting overtrumped. S1's team lost the first trick so they can't get 2 points. S1 should just take the obvious line of trumping low, sending boss trump and then his off ace. Secure the point. By playing off you open up the nightmare scenario (which happened) of diamonds being led.

The dealer's pass is also interesting to me. The dealer passed a biddable hand with R+1+0. It looks to me he's trying to bag a Next call. IMO this is the type of "biddable hand" where bagging a Next call would be most favorable. Not only does the dealer have L+2 in Next but he even has insurance against a heart call and even just having the JH lowers the probablity S1 has a diamond hand. This would be a fun hand to test. If the dealer is Wolf he's probably already tested it!

Great hand to post! 3 errors in a high level game! In the order of the game:

R1S4, Dealer passed Rx (and don’t forget the void). Wes’ post elevates the post to debatable. I understand his points. However, with my simpler approach, I would order this slight +EO or +EVo hand, as a general principle.

R2 (Street 2) S1 (Maker) should trump

R3 S4 should have trumped with his otherwise worthless 9 of trump

I actually see a 4th debatable decision. R1S2 is in a position to assist. 2 mid-level trump (AKQ, in my approach), a Singleton Next (Black) Ace and a void. That meets my minimum to order with 9 or T Up Cards. Even with my reduced aggressiveness, I would have ordered. Ordering would have made the 3 mistakes moot.

I scanned the Lessons and Tips about R1S2 ordering. Nothing that I found contradicts ordering this hand R1S2. However, I found nothing that specifically addresses this hand. I would appreciate feedback and guidance on R1S2 Assisting.

I think you are correct! I do think that's a +EV call. IOW I think passing that hand when you block no 2nd rd suits is a mistake. This is one of those spots I can't wait to test soon.

For Seat 2 Round 1 and for Seat 4 round 1. I can see why one would pass. From my thinking perspective. At a score of 0-0, no need for seat 2 to order up. You have help if partner picks up. Partner may go alone. Let your partner get that opportunity to do so. Is how I feel. Especially with thinking partners. If the partner passes and its gets back to you in seat 2. You have a clear diamonds call.

For Seat 4 Round 1. It looks like they are getting a little trickey(poker term) and trying to bag Seat 1 for Next. Its a decent gamble if you know the tendencies of Seat 1. They also have decent stopper in hearts and possibly in diamonds, depending on whats played. I do not initially like the pass but if the dealers mindset was to trap then I'm ok with that. They've got help if his partner goes reverse next in seat 2 or calls spades with lots of help.

For Seat 1. I think seat one is just over thinking the situation and this opens his team up to a potential euchre by laying off/sloughing when they did. Luckily it worked out for them but they need to take control of the hand and trump low and send the boss heart to establish and secure their point.

thanks Edward. Yeah, I had a brain fart big time. but wiw was dealer thinking not trumping in the next hand? and I agree with the wizard... s2r1 hand is a call up which makes the mistakes moot as stated.
