As the dealer, going alone in hearts, do you hold the spade ace or split the diamond set?

Why do I have the lead? Why doesn't North?

If I have the lead as the dealer, I'm leading the jacks to try to pull all of the trump out of the opponents' hands'. But again, why do I have the lead here?

Ideally what I want is for first seat to lead that AC, third seat throws off, then I trump with the 10-trump and lead the two jacks.

I'm the dealer, I shouldn't be leading on first trick.

I am sure that Dlan is asking about the discard. Should you discard the:
(Card_A-S) Or (Card_Q-D)
I would discard the (Card_A-S)
There is only 1 Stopper, no matter which card you choose, and you gain a Void by discarding the As.

Makes perfect sense, but it still isn't clear to me. Holding a singleton green Ace doesn't burn you that often and using this card can throw the enemy off the diamond scent, inducing them to throw the AD away later in the hand to hold unto a possible good spade hoping you have AsXs.

Thanks Wes. I should have added, once your opponents have seen you go Alone with off suit AK, switch tactics. Or to paraphrase OE, don’t always play the same exact way. Mix it up to confuse Opponents.
