HOLDING BOTH JACKS

Unread post by irishwolf » Wed Jan 30, 2019 4:39 pm

You are the dealer and picked up the Jack of Spades, discard the 9Hs. Here is your hand after discarding the 9H. JS JC KD, JD, 10D.
Eldest leads the AH, 2nd plays 10H, 3rd the QH. What do you play?

If you play the left, your partner will know that you still have the right (and thus a guaranteed trick). He'll also probably figure that you called with just the two jacks because otherwise you'd have trumped with a smaller card. He can then play his hand accordingly and set himself up to take a trick.
