Going to surprise my dad in law

I'm living with my brother's fiance, she's pretty cool but does not know much about Euchre. Her dad plays recreationally and thinks he's very good. He's basically like a reg - knows common sense, but doesn't really know stuff like next or playing aggressively. He thinks I'm lucky when I donate correctly or call on some theoretically-sound-but-very-aggro hand and we make a point.

So, me and her thought it would be a GREAT idea to teach her how to play behind his back and then surprise him on Thanksgiving. She's a completely clean slate - has no prior background in Euchre, and we've been playing simulated hands for a couple hours every now and again. For Thanksgiving, I'm going to challenge him - and have her as my partner - and if we win (I'm so excited to see if we do lol) - then we'll bring in the news that I've taught her the aggro style as you all know and love which he is going to HATE!!! and call us lucky

She's already learned concepts like next and reverse next, as well as why you should play aggressively and what to call with in which seat. She's pretty good at leads too and knows how to count trump. We're working on paying attention to off suits a bit now.

One fun simulation hand: I'm in S4, my brother is S1, and his fiance in S2 (we have a stuffed animal playing S3 (which I play for)). We're playing simulations so we're allowed to show cards and talk about the hand during the hand. gets passed around to me, and I pass my hand holding 0 hearts. My brother shows me and asks "Do I call next with this?" and then passes and I ask "Show me your hand". He has and I'm like DUDE CALL NEXT LEAD THE 10!!! and she goes NOO!!!! and shows "I HAVE REVERSE NEXT!!!" - we then simulated him calling with just 10 of diamonds and leading it, lo-and-behold they got 3 tricks for the point

So, we were down 6-9 in our first game, but ended up winning 10-9, it was awesome. My brother's fiance got to dunk on her dad in a game of Euchre, and she didn't know anything a couple months ago. She revealed I'd been training her in the ways of aggressive plays, calling next/reverse, and a few other concepts

We played 3 more games, won 3-1 total.

He still does not understand what next or reverse next means which is hilarious. He's pretty set in his ways and thinking his 30 years experience makes him know things "you either get the cards or you don't!" "what is this call??"
