Being at the score 9-9. With the Jack of diamonds turned down. Calling hearts here with your hand is a decent call, but I wouldn't fault a club's call here either. You have to call something and those are your two best options.

I have always prescribed to the policy that if tied 9-9 and the dealer passes, you'd better make your best at 1st seat, preferably next. In this instance, as Tbolt writes, a club trump call is a reasonable consideration. Neither happened here so 2nd seat has the opportunity to take their best shot. They should do it, make trump! Pick one, clubs or spades! Win or lose on your terms.
