Second seat low

While it wouldn't affect the outcome of this hand, playing second seat low (and saving a higher card for later in the hand) is the recommended play.

Excellent point. On Round 2, aka Street 2, S2 (South) should play the Tc, based on Second Hand Low. It “gives his partner a chance.” Partner, S3 (North) would have taken Trick 2 with his Right. S2’s Left then is guaranteed to take a trick and a euchre is more likely.

2nd Hand Low is not the title of any of the lessons in OE (Ohio Euchre). It is found in the section titled, “Give Your Partner a Chance.”

This link will take you to Lesson 6. Read lessons 7, 8 and the remaining 5 lessons to understand the concept more thoroughly.
